Throughout India, but especially at St Simon School, eggs are considered a special and valuable food. They are treated almost as a luxury, and serving egg curry is seen as a way of showing care and generosity towards others. Twice a week, the school provides egg curry for the children, and it is always a much-anticipated meal. Whenever egg curry is on the menu, the children are delighted. The English language, probably like any other, has it’s funny sides.
