Louisa Plant - Board Member Helping Point CANADA

I first got involved with Helping Point in 2011, after hearing Bidyuta’s story and how Helping Point is changing the lives of vulnerable children. I was deeply moved and knew right away that I wanted to be part of it.

In 2013, I had the opportunity to visit and see the impact firsthand. I still remember the joy of the children and the dedication of the staff I met there. Fast-forward 14 years(!) and I'm still involved, now as board member of Helping Point Canada and as a volunteer working on communications.

Helping Point has had a big impact on my own life: after getting to know the Helping Point Canada team, I moved from London (UK) to Vancouver in 2018 to pursue a Master’s in International Studies, focusing on India. It’s hard to believe Helping Point is now in its 25th year. I’m so grateful to all who have supported this work and excited for the next chapter.
