I met Bidyuta as far back as 2001, when the vast majority of what he has now achieved was just a dream. Even then though, the passion and the intention was very evident, and it seemed inevitable that Bidyuta and the people he was slowly accruing to his cause, would be a huge benefit to the communities he was engaging with. What struck me early on was that Bidyuta wanted to make a tangible difference to the lives of the people in these poor communities. A lasting difference.

 

What strikes me now, is how much of a lasting difference Helping Point has

already made. Children are now educated and have started careers. Orphans have been given a whole new life with safety and good health. And villages have been supported through hardship and helped to regenerate after natural disasters. Being the trustee who has had the longest journey with Helping Point, I guess I am the most incredulous at what it has become and the immense good it has done.

 

I keenly look forward to being further surprised by the difference Helping Point will make in coming years
